There is no simple cupric carbonate or copper (II) carbonate. All
carbonates of copper are basic. Two types that occur naturally are
azurite, having the formula 2CuCO3 . Cu(OH)2, and malachite, having the
formula CuCO3 . Cu(OH)2.There may be other combinations, as well as
mixtures of the various types. "Tom Perigrin" had some information
about these copper compounds on his web site about them at one time; I
don't know if it is still available.
