Re: Homemade BP for shooting

Since I'm not a gun expert, and since this thread focuses on BP guns et
al, let me ask a question.

I own a S&W Model 1 revolver. It was designed to fire a .22-Cal black
powder round using a rimfire cartridge. Experts write that it would be
reckless or dangerous to fire any .22-Cal smokeless cartirdge from it,
even BB-Caps, which I understand. BP only. The pistol itself if a
little beauty with a like new chrome or nickel finish.

I would like to fire this little guy at least a few times, but am
having a problem locating primed but unloaded rimfire brass. The BP is
not the problem. Anyone here have any suggestions as to where to
purchase primed .22-Cal rimfire brass and/or the .22 lead slugs that go
along with the brass.

Were it not for prudence, I am temped to try and fire BB-Caps or .22
shorts as a test, but I really don't want to destroy this little bit of
American history.

Kindest regards to all, Harry C.
