I have witnessed shells being fired that had TRUE flashes at the end of the
stars burning, however I was not able to find out the country of origin, or
brand etc of them.
Fom where I was viewing ( about 200 mts ) the shell looked to be about 6
inch or so, and was a STUNNING example of a blue Peony, perfect break
symmetry, bright stars with good colour saturation, and big burst, all stars
extinguishing at the same time, and then a very slight delay , with NO
light, and then LOUD, simultaneous flashes from the ends of the traces of
where the stars extinguished.
The flashes were true, fast, SINGLE flashes accompanied by a single loud
crack with good synchronisation with the light.
...I am yet to hear anyone offer a reasonable explaination of how the
effect can be done.
Couldn't it simply be a flash cracker as core? Take a salute, and
surround its fuse with star compo? Or like the inserts in Thunder
Kings? Kyle Kepley's instructions for making color-to-salute "cake"
inserts I'm guessing would also work as shell inserts.
