Flash Core Help

Hello All,

Looking for some help with something im thinking about contemplating in
the next few weeks. The project im thinking about is to make some stars
with a flash core. Following something very similar to wouter's round
stars example:

Now this is where i need the help. I was wondering if using the Flash

Potassium nitrate.................................50
Sulfur .................................................30
Aluminum............................................20
Would work? Im not too sure if it would have the twinkle same as the
flash cores made with K perchlorate but i would rather make something a
little safer first.

Any suggestions, comments or variations etc??
