Tom, I have absolutely no excuse, being trained as you know by Kodak.
In fact, I use a Kodak DC50 camera with spare batteries for all of my
eBay sales shots. Still, for the photos on Patriots Day, I took my
little Nikon 880 with me because of its resolution (which is amazing).
Another amazing thing about the Nikon is that it goes through $10
batteries like there is no tomorow, hence I purchased a charger and
re-chargeable battery...that's the rub. The damn imported Chinese
battery doesn't take a charge, but the camera works fine so long as the
charger is attached!
Sure, I sould have purchased a spare battery, but all of our local
camera stores that sell this battery have gone out of business during
the past 6 months -- and it is a strange battery that even Radio Shack
doesn't carry.
So I'm now looking for photo shops in a 60-mile radius that sell both
fresh batteries and recahargables that will function for more than a
few hours.
