I'd think a reasonably sized salute hidden inside a *whole* pumpkin (not
scooped out, just drill a hole to insert the charge) could do it. Best idea
is to run some tests, if you have the pumpkin to spare!

Safety is always nice but it's just pumpkin... drunk people are expecting to
get messy and bruised anyway...
