20% of the countries landmass must lie on the smaller side of the
transit line, and that the transit line must cross the country border
at an angle no less than approximately 80° at each crossing (in other
words, the opposite borders must be nearly parallel).
What about, say, New Zealand, where you can draw a line between two
approximate halves without going through any land at all?
