Harder puzzles easier; 4 points in plane

(a) Sometimes a puzzle becomes easier after a change to
make it harder. Give some interesting examples.

(b) Find all configurations of four points in the plane
with only two distinct distances between points.

(c) While solving (b) I thought of (a). What was the
connection?
