Once upon a time there was this curious duck, its feathers so sound

The ambitious decission was taken to cross that water for any price.
Older ducks warning goes although we are an amphibian animal, in this
case we are not allowed to fly across, and we won't risk to swim the
water, dozens of pike waiting, and don't try to walk the path around
the lake, badges says this is strictly forbidden. How do you think,
that the curious duck fullfilled its dream anyway to reach the
opposite shore?, and it actually did so.
Well this bedside reading is not exactly the Gordian knot, or the
secret of the Pyramids.
Unless I fell to sleep, I shall announce the solution within two
hours, or you must wait for the continuation untill tomorrow morning

I am still curious about the meaning of "badges"?

Well you've spotted the real puzzle, a gem in amongst the dross.
My answer:
Mistranslation of 'Warning sign', as in 'Please do not feed the ducks', 'Keep
off the grass', 'Beware deadly pikes' and of course 'Ducks may not
circumnavigate the pond'.
