Works fine here with Netscape 4.75 and Firefox 1.5. Tinyurls are
ugly and dangerous, because you have no idea where the actual
destination is. Best compromise is to supply both, thus allowing
for users with brain damaged systems.
Best thing is to provide a link from makeashorterlink.com and
the original. Makeashorterlink allows he user to bail before
actually taking him/her to the target destination. And leaving
the original in provides appropriate archival information should
MASL ever go away for any reason.
It's a bit clumsier to use, having no toolbar button, but it's
worth it. Not sure why the TinuURL people never looked into
this.
