If there's a diagram, there are probably only one or two answers of a
certain, hopefully very long, length, and that's usually where you
start. Or, if two words begin in the same square, obviously you have
to find two words of the right lengths starting with the same letter.
(Likewise for the last letter.)

I've never seen a puzzle that is both diagramless and unnumbered.

Diagramlesses are rarer and rarer in the variety puzzle magazines.
