UV will only take care of the pea soup algae. Thats the stuff that
makes your water foggy. If thats what you have you may want to check
the bulb to make sure its not blown.

The bulb may also just need a cleaning. Mine gets a mineral film after a
few weeks that must be removed for the unit to keep the algae down.
