Sure. Nothing going on here. Nope. Except possibly the most
transparent buyout by a camera manufacturer in history to get someone
on to their system. Shameless.
What is shameless is that Nikon appeared to have exactly copied the
technique from another manufacturer ...
... Canon. So the only thing Nikon is guilty of is plagiarism. ;-)
When Canon went all out to gain market share from Nikon, that is
exactly how it was done. It helped that Canon offered a better
product in those days ... just as Nikon does now.
LOL! Bingo!
But don't expect the usual Canon vociferating hordes to even be aware of
reality, let alone admit to it...
