A press camera I had once - a 120 Mamiya - had a wire frame finder, was tops for action stuff coz you could see all around outside the frame. A problem I have with slr finders is you can't see what's outside the frame, if you lose track of the action it's difficult to re-acquire.Annika1980 wrote:I tried to video the retreat, but it didn't come out too well.Damn! mode. I'm shocked the GBH is actually flying as well as it is after almost
getting taloned to death. Did the new firmware allow the lens to AF when in
video mode?
No, the firmware upgrade doesn't affect the autofocus, although it
will autofocus very slowly.
The main problem is holding and panning with a 400mm lens while
looking at the LCD. Not only is it almost impossible to keep a fast
moving bird in the frame, but you look like a dork holding your camera
out like some point & shooter. I wish they'd figure out a way to make
an external EVF that snaps onto the hotshoe for looking through while
shooting video.
