Particulary if its in a hostile environment the chances are your camera
get destroyed or stolen from you at some time during your trip.
So cant be sentimental about losing the camera.
And daytime temperatures are likely to be up to 48C.
I had an Olympus Stylus Zoom 140 35mm. It was light, fit in my cargo
pocket, was cheap enough not to matter if it got busted or lost. I took
lots of photos with that camera.
Now I guess it would be my Canon Powershot s500 (digital). This is the one
I take when I go on swamp walks and other hazardous journeys.
If the threat of water doesn't exist, I'd take my Canon Rebel (35mm) or my
20D.
