You shoot film, right?
This is a FILM newsgroup, in case you hadn't noticed.
Agreed.
Film appears nowhere in its title.
The 35mm in the title and Charter unambiguously refers to 35mm FILM.
Not anymore. When this group was created, a 35 mm sized sensor did not
exist. The Kodak/Canon bodies were 1.3x.
You will recall that members of this newsgroup participated in the
expansion of rec.photo.digital into a rec.photo.digital.* hierarchy
with several newsgroups for discussions about digital capture.
And it was discussed, ad infinitum, that since the equipment involve with
most digital SLRs was 35mm film camera based, it was on topic. You're
showing a selective memory, here.
Since 35mm does appear in it, though, maybe it should be restricted to
users
of 35mm film
Stop there! It already is, but it is constantly being used by a small
number of prolific posters who take every possibly opportunity to
attack and criticise film users. That's not only off-topic, it is
Usenet abuse.
Sorry, Tony, selective editing doesn't count. There are a lot of people
here, myself included, who shoot very little, if any, film, but prefer this
to the other groups because of the experience level here in relation to the
many posts like, "how do I put a battery in my camera" posts on those other
groupl.
If it doesn't stop, I and others will be contacting the ISPs of the
offending posters. They have been warned.
Chill out, Tony. The world, you, me and the ISPs have much larger issues to
worry about than a few posts that get your panties in a bunch.
