Tell us! ...it was *you* that wanted to hide what you had said
from the context of my response!
"Wake up, it *IS* all about the oil. If it weren't for the
American's stealing the oil from Iraq it would be going to
France or Russia. We saved a few pennies at the pump, but we
are paying more for oil with American lives and the total
destabilization of the Middle East."
Yep, I said that. Why do you think France and Russia were so opposed to the
invasion of Iraq? It wouldn't have anything to do with all the money they
had invested in Iraq's oil dealings would it? America controls Iraqi oil
and France and Russia are out a lot of money. And yes, again, if it weren't
for Bush *liberating* Iraq we would be paying $5.00+ for a gallon of gas.
The price of crude would probably be less than $45 a barrel if
we had not elected Bush. The price of gasoline would certainly
be higher than it was, but you are out of your (small) mind if
you think it would have shot up the way it did without the
assistence of Bush and Cheney.
Do a little research and figure out how much oil Iraq could
potentially be pumping into the market today; and find out what
fraction of that it actually is producing.
No, just realistic. The price at the pump should be $5.00+ at
the pump to be in line with the rest of the world. We just have
What "realistic" universe are you talking about?
Ask anyone in the UK how artificially low US gas prices are.
Lets see, we don't tax the price up to $5 a gallon, therefore
our prices are "artificially low", compared to places where they
do?
The rest of the world is trying to *conserve* oil, and nothing
George W. Bush is going to do will ever be targetting any
*reduction* in use of oil by the US.
What "rest of the world is trying to conserve oil" are you talking about?
Why do you think they tax gasoline so high that the price is
twice what we pay? You think they do this because it's fun
paying that much for gasoline????
Only country I can think of that is making strides is Brazil with E85.
Hell, we can't even produce enough ethanol additive for our "summer" blend.
As much as Bush sickens me you can't blame him for our oil use. We are an
oil-based society and there is no way we can survive without oil. Hey,
Rich, no more plastic cameras!!!!
We *can* blame Bush for the current price of crude. Not
that he has been the only influence, but his policies have
certainly been the single most significant influence.
If we wanted to conserve energy we would have more nuclear power plants and
we would be helping Iran build a few.
Conserving oil, not energy, is the point. And nuclear power is
*not* the answer. Needless to say you are *insane* for
suggesting we help Iran build reactors.
an artificially low price at the pump due to the tax structure
and our covert deals with the Middle East. This will be
changing shortly.
"Covert deals with the Middle East"????
You figure it out.
It is impossible for anyone to know what you are imagining.
Nothing we have done or are about to do in Iraq is going save "a
few pennies at the pump". The whole point of what Bush is doing
in Iraq is to keep the cost of crude *high*. We aren't stealing
Iraqi crude, Rita, we're preventing them from selling it at all,
and driving the price even higher with war and instability.
Nonsense! What is driving up the price of crude is China's demand.
China is certainly having an effect. And without Bush crude
might even have hit $45 a barrel by now...
Of course you don't have a clue how it works, but conspiracy theories
are wonderful ways for you to spend your time.
Bush
secured an allotment that will be coming to the US. If bush didn't have
this war to keep oil prices dirt-cheap the free market would prevail and
China would gladly pay $100 a barrel. So, you should be kissing Bush's ass
for keeping oil prices down.
I suppose you actually do believe that. Whatever...
Except you don't seem to have a clue.
Never do, but I haven't been proven wrong yet.
This is not a humor thread. If you want to tell aburdly
ridiculuous jokes, try talk.bizarre or something like that.
They have been on. This is all old news to me.
And you haven't yet understood a bit of it.
It's not that I don't understand it I just don't believe the propaganda that
the sheep believe.
You don't understand it.
