I like wood, I like nature colors, and I cannot not smile when I see one; relieved to see Thomas is accepting this mayhem in good cheer; I empathize with the lighting conundrum, poor practitioner that I am, and might have gone a little more "high key" (see! I can learn!) which to my mind would have fit better with the light-hearted undercurrent in the subject.

This one really strikes a chord with me (B-flat Seventh, if I'm not completely tin-eared); as in all art-making machinery, media, and apprehension, there is a plethora of convergences, and this work calls up some of the most poignant; an alternate technique could draw good focus from front to back, perhaps, but this configuration also invokes other characteristics of art appreciation, more fulfilling than a technical _coup_.

The honest-to-Ansel truth: she was in a hurry, I was in a hurry, the one exposure was looking good on the LCD, and I blushed when I got home and saw its appalling, disgusting failure-to-focus; it didn't take long to salvage something; hindsight (cognitive dissonance) tells me it would have been less satisfactory if well-focused.

Tears in my eyes, tears of delight and pleasure; and envy; I want to lie back and let my consciousness float among the currents of perception and sensuality sucking me into this majestic view; Bravo!

Another opportunity for me to exercise my acrophobic reflex, shooting up to the top of the chimney and grasping for safety; I don't care about the symmetry, I'm too desperate to fix on details, early in our acquaintance; now I marvel at the construction techniques, not quite perfect, like those for making flat concrete sections of highway on _steep_ hills; and continue to marvel at what it is those who will _use_ these rungs have that I haven't; in mid-1950s Los Angeles I worked at a parking lot next to the California Hospital, where Saturday mornings they would burn their refuse in a short-stacked incinerator; didn't smell all that good; good reason for a hundred-eighty-footer; hospital was on South Hope Street a couple blocks down from the famous Jim Morrison Morrison Hotel (album cover
http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/1096616/a/Morrison+Hotel+(Hard+Rock+Cafe%2FMorrison+Hotel).htm ) ; I'd walk past there on the way to or from the bus stop; it smelled like stale cigars and incontinent old men.

Another chance to share personal human joy at witnessing a cavorter-in-nature, as well as the frustration of equipment-limited capture; a fine moment, regardless; I might have cropped another 10% from the upper right corner.

A sucker for texture, clouds, contrasts, architecture, this image washes over many senses as I am drawn into the vortex at lower left; everything in the picture is static by nature, including (relatively) the cloudscape, so it is amazing and exciting how much motion we sense; plus which, there are some nature-artifact and older-modern convergences for flavor; deee-light-ful.

Pretty uninspired conformance with the mandate, pretty good technical execution; ...just kidding ! - another delight for the eye and mind, one that draws in attention and rewards inspection; the lane-changer is very satisfying, and I'm curious about the four bright lights upper center; the traffic signs are suitably obscure and evocative, while the painted lines and yellow boundary reflectors comfort me; have you ever inspected one of those white lines like the one that splits, center bottom? They are like _tape_! This photo makes me want to do a similar one with slaves or an accomplice hidden roadside to ghost-flash the backs of some or one cars or car.

All told, a small but exemplary set of insights into 'convergence' as seen by thoughtful, accomplished shooters. Thank you all for the opportunities.
