Hi, Mark,
Yeah, that drive on 15 is stultifying, isn't it? I used to make that drive
every day (I live in Escondido, and I used to work in Mission Valley for
part of the day...) and it gave me a great opportunity to catch up on
listening to music I hadn't heard in a while, audio books, news, the sound
of my own voice...
We have 580s, we never got any 550s. The 420 was enough for my purposes
with the D30, I pretty much only used it for fill, anyway. So the leap from
that to a 580 was a little startling, to say the least.
Calumet is a good place, it's still resisting assimilation to the hive, and
trying to be North County Camera, despite the guys in Chicago best efforts.
Larry and Tom are the guys to talk to, Larry is a working pro and Tom used
to be the mgr of NCC before the takeover. The old owner, John, is the
manager now, everybody moved down a notch. John's a great guy, but the
other two, and a guy named Trevor, are the fonts of information there. It's
just a little hard, sometimes, to get Trev to part with it...heheheh, in
case Trevor's reading this...
