The Zeiss Ikon rangefinder camera body and most of the ZM lenses are
made under licence by Cosina of Japan (the remaining two are made in
Germany). The Zeiss Ikon camera body is closely based on the Cosina
Voigtländer Bessa R2A.
Most of the ZF lenses will also be made by Cosina.
Cosina has already made two camera bodies for Nikon - the FM-10 and
FE-10, both of which are junk. However, they spawned the Cosina
Voigtländer Bessa R rangefinder camera, which has been improved almost
beyond recognition to become the Bessa R2A/R3A bodies, and further
developed to become the Zeiss Ikon body.
Now that the patents on the Nikon F mount have expired, there is no
reason why Cosina could not make a better quality Nikon F mount body
to go with the ZF lenses.
Whether Zeiss would be interested is another matter. I suspect the
main market for the ZF lenses will be users of Nikon D1*, D2* and D200
DSLRs, all of which offer 100% compatibility with manual focus Nikon
mount lenses.
