You got that right!
Don't the new IS lenses have a panning mode? Something like that might
help when the jets zoom past.
I was taking pics at a wedding yesterday and the church was on the
flightline close to the airport.
Since it was a two-day airshow I knew what time everything was going to
happen. So I encouraged the family to come outside for some group
portraits where "the light was better."
The bad news is that the bright sunlight made for some overly contrasty
portraits, even using my fill flash. I shoulda known that!
The good news is that I got an extra roll of slide pics of the Blue
Angels zipping right over the tree line.
