I don't like to spend money unnecessarily, and my feeling is that
partial-frame DSLRs are money badly spent, unless you really need one
for business reasons. Partial-frame DSLR lenses, especially overpriced
ones like the Canon 17-85, are money even more badly spent. The 17-85
costs more than twice as much as a Canon 28-135, isn't as good optically,
and will probably have a very short useful lifespan.
