The entire digital world as far as marketing is based is aoubt developing
ways to get you to trow out everything and start over. It is also just
part of the technology as things progress but marketing types tend to
abuse it and force those in engeneering and design to go along.

I really do not know what the answer is hear but I for one am having more
fun in the last few weeks with an old Pentax Spotmatic. My wife dumped
all her Nikon gear for EOS stuff about two years ago because Canon made
things much more appealling in several ways. Now it seems they are going
to do the same with digital. They seem more willing to please. But, as
long as magazines keep asking for slides from my wife I do not think she
will make the jump to digital anytime soon. One thing I have learned
about women is they will do without until you make it do what they really
need. "Will the new computers do the dishes?" "No, then screw 'em!" Maybe
if us guys were a bit more like the women these companies would stop
trying to screw us.
