Finally gave in...Part 2

It apppears that my purchase of the (NON-IS) 24-700 2.8 L DID cause the IS
lens I wanted to be magically produced...

According to this site,

it appears that Canon is about to release a 24-105 f4 L **IS** lens!
While this is not the 24-70, and not 2.8, it is actually more in line with
what I would have liked!
The extra 35mm at the long end makes it closer to the 28-135 I'm used to,
and I could have lived without the 2.8 in this range.
My only concern is the roughly 4x zoom ratio.
If it's even close to as sharp as the 24-70 2.8, I may be prepared to trade
my very recent purchase... :(
We shall see...

PS-- I wonder what the 1D Mark II **N** is all about?
