Re: suggestions on upgrading to a new pc

still unsure what way to go just yet .
the IT guy at work suggested getting something from the links below.
he redid my current system 1/12 years ago , i didn't want to ask him
the favor of doing it again ,a mutal friend from work told him and he
called me offering to help me out .

i have another friend who called me back and he wants to build me a
complete system for no no charge just me paying for the parts , he is
a doctor and just enjoys doing it he knows his stuff .

the IT guy is suggesting the hp work station which he says runs totaly
different from a regular pc , the architecture is totaly different he
claims, something i know nothing about so i ask you guys again for
your input.

he also said stick with windows xp pro support will still be available
for it for 2 years by then all the bugs will be worked out with
windows 7 ?


just comparing the specs (faster speed ram , bigger hd etc)for other
machines it would seem like you would get more bang for your $ buying
something besides the hp workstation but the IT GUY swears by it and
says i have to stop up his office and see it for myself.

he also said the hp laptops are something to really consider.
