Linux is a religion. Would a Catholic church replace its crucified Jesus with
a Torah scroll?
Windows is a religion as well ... most people are born into it
and only know it and think everything should be of the hourglass.
From the day that Microsoft introduced MS-DOS I've thought theirsoftware is a pig. Windows XP is still a pig (and Vista is a pig with
lipstick). Nevertheless I've continued to use it as this where the
bulk of the tried and proved commercial-grade software lives.
At the time that MS-DOS was introduced I was us Cromemco's glorious
CROMIX operating system. I think in today's world, in my present
circumstances, I would buy an Apple.
My brother in law is a Linux fan but from what I can see he owns his
computer for no real reason other than that it enables him to spend
most of his time playing with the OS.

I'm a former mac user. I loved mac for the first ten years even though
the OS was shakey to say the least in the first few years. After 10
years the challenge was gone for me so I bought a Windows computer.
Win98 sucked! Windows XP though is an excellent OS (for me). I learned
the system inside and out and I will be hard pressed to upgrade. I
even build my own computers these days. I don't care for all the fancy
icons and glitz etc of the present Mac OS or Vista either for that
matter. I will check out Windows 7 and one day I will be forced to
upgrade but I would never choose a Mac again. It is a good system I
give you that but there is so much more in the windows world. I know
you Mac fanboys will have a lot to say about this but my vote is for
PC. The virus problems that the Mac fanboys like to rant about is all
hype. Yes there is more malware in the windows world (and soon to come
to the mac world probably) but only the fools get infected with
anything. In the last 9 years I have never had my computer fubared by
a virus. I even use some (maybe a lot?) pirated software and still
never have had any virus problems.
To each their own and I am not putting down any other OS, but for me
it's Windows all the way. I know both Mac and PC very well. Sorry you
Mac people but you just don't have the market share that windows does.
Maybe (if) you ever do, and there is as much softwware written for the
Mac as the PC then I would reconsider but until then I'm a PC all the
way!
PS : I do love my Iphone though!! Apple is really a winner with the
Iphone!
