C'mon. A data port is a basic essential. The fact it's non proprietary is a
big deal.
True the reviews failed to mention whether that it was non-standard but
they said it was USB. They should have said "proprietary USB". Did they
know? Of course they knew. If they didn't know, they should have.
Milk is milk as USB is usb but if you knew the milk had melamine in it,
you'd not buy it.
Likewise, nobody in their right mind is going to buy any camera with a
proprietary USB interface when there's no good reason for a proprietary USB
interface and there's no advantage whatsoever to a proprietary USB
interface. It's nothing but bad.
If the review had mentioned the non-proprietary data interface, the camera
would never have been bought! So, I blame the reviews. They knew the milk
had melamine in it and they said nothing to tip us off.
What's the purpose of the review anyway?
How else can I know that a camera has a proprietary interface if I can't
trust the reviewers?
