White works even more of the time than does gray.
Why? White is the same as grey, only lighter.
That's why it still works in light too dim to get a reliable reading
from the gsay card.
Mute argument - then white may be too bright for a sunny day.
For the record, the word you were looking for is "moot".
Add to the record that it it's the point, not the argument, that is
moot. The argument is when the point is debatable.
"Moot" is a dangerous word to use, though. To some it means
"debatable", and to some it means "not worth debating". Opposite
meanings. Alfred is using the "not worth debating" meaning.
