hi,
if I process raw of pictures where there are areas with burned lights, and I use the exposure setting to underexpose I get all highlights magenta

on the left the original as it comes out from the camera without adjustment, on the right the only thing I did was (in lightroom, or camera raw) to set the exposure to - 1,9
(but magenta is already visible with a minor adjustment and turns stronger going further)
Is it a normal behavior or something is wrong with the sensor?
thx a lot
A good way to recover blown highlights in camera raw, is to go into the Tone Curve tab, then the Point tab. Single click the top right point of the curve - it should read 255 for input and 255 for output. Drag this point straight down until the highlights are no longer blown out. You should not go below a value of 240 for the output.
