Please ID this lens for me!

Hi
I've just found in the back of a drawer a lens attachment for my old digital camera (which I sold a year or so back). I'd completely forgotten I had this lens, and as it's complete with mount for the old camera, it's not much use to me and I may as well try and ebay it and hope someone else could use it:

The thing is, I hardly ever used it and can't remember exactly what it did! It screwed on the front of my Canon A40 (see http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/a40-review/) but was it a telephoto lens, or a macro lens for close-up stuff, or both? Clearly I need to be able to describe it to attract any interest!
Description on the front of the lens reads "Fujiyama 0.45x AF High Definition Digital Lens With Macro".
Behind the front lens is another short extension tube incorporating a lens, with "Macro" written on the side, and behind that another extension tube/bayonet adaptor for the Canon - ISTR the Canon's zoom lens could go in and out within that tube. The "Macro" tube has a male thread at each end, which means it can't be left out - the whole assembly must be used together.
So if anyone can remind me what this does, I'd be most grateful!!
Thanks
David
