99% of the spam is coming from Google Groups. Google has no plans to
do anything about it. (I suspect they encourage spam, but I can't
prove it). It's only going to get worse.

Set your news reader filter to reject all posts from Google Groups. You
can do this by filtering on the 'message-ID' line in the header.

Once Google Groups is gone, then the spam will be gone too.

A growing number of us have completely shut out Google Groups. I've
done this and I haven't seen a spam post in rec.photo.digital for over
two days.

Filtering the spam works on the symptom, not the problem. Have any of you
making all these complaints made a move to deny your posts to the archive?
They do honor the "X-No-Archive:yes" header. If enough folks did this it
MIGHT get their attention.

only works for news servers that honour the "X-No-Archive:yes" tag, a few
don't
and I'm curious, how does using the X-No-Archive tag stop spammers ??
