Li-Ion batteries do fine in cold weather. Alkaline and NiMH batteries suck in cold weather. With AA powered cameras you can use non-rechargeable Energizer lithium cells in cold weather, but since the P880 uses a Li-Ion battery you should be fine as far as the battery. wondering about the autofocus mechanism. Any chance that might be
damaged below a certain temperature?
Most companies don't spec below 0 degrees C, but I've never had a problem with my digital cameras at below 0.
