And how will clicking there help save tropical forests? Are starving
farmers going to suddenly stop burning forests because I clicked on
your web site?

The magical thinking of some people appalls me.

The only way to save the rainforests would be by mandatory sterilization for all
heteros on all continents and to promote homosexuality. No lie, it's the only
solution. The one and only solution that nobody wants to admit to. Sterilizing
just those that live there will do no good, then the idiots that buy rain-forest
woods would strip them clean. Those idiots would have to be sterilized too.

I am well aware of the arguments in favor of human extinction. However, if it comes down to having to choose between rain forests and humanity, I will vote for humanity.

It is not a matter of rare woods; it is that thousands of hectares of rain forest disappear each day simply because they are burned to clear land for subsistence farmers. No one even gets any furniture out of that.

If you get right down to it, it does not matter much anyway. The godless think that we are all going to disappear when the universe collapses -- there will be no trace of anything that happened in this one, so anything we do is pointless anyway. The religious think that God will save them. If you are godless, why should a sack of chemicals be concerned in the slightest about a group of other chemicals that cannot even move about on their own? OTOH, if you think Jesus is going to restore the earth to its pristine glory, why worry about it now?

Sorry to seem cynical, but there it is. I am heartless and cynical and do not believe in the slightest that my clicking on a web site will help save rain forests.
