I don't see very well, and night shots of any sort are extremely
difficult for me to focus manually. Even my best efforts to focus on
the night sky usually results in stars and planets appearing as fuzzy
balls of light, instead of pinpoints. Does anyone have any suggestions
that might improve my focus?

That looks interesting. I'm not using a separate telescope, just my
Canon lenses, but I guess the principle is the same.
