I just had my computer upgraded -new mother board and more memory -to
1gb and a AMD Sempron 1.8chip. Not spectacular, but much better than
what I had. He also installed a new video card a Rage 128 Pro gl
with16mb of memory.
Now many of the things that I do in PhotoShop really go fast,
especially when working with raw files or heavy editing. But when I
do simple things such as scrolling with the mouse in PS or any
program the computer hesitates or gets very jerky.
So I am happy with the much improved photoshop speed, but am
wondering if my scrolling problem is the video card or even the new
chip. Any advice would be appreciated.
That is an ancient and VERY slow video card by today's standards.
Upgrade it. Quickly.
Nonsense! That card is overkill for Photoshop.
For Photoshop, maybe, but not for WinXP.
He answered his own question and solved the dilemma since he's using AMD. AMD doesn't support Photoshop and will be glitchy at best.
Really? Shhhh, don't tell my Athlon64, PS runs fine on it.
