I downloaded GPG and uploading the key to a key server proved to
be trivially easy, but actually using it to encrypt, sign and
authenticate is not nearly as straighforward as it could be. I have
the feeling that I might use it more or less successfully, but still
leave some exposure to one of the several documented mentioned
problems, such as the "man in the middle". Also, when creating a
key pair, the program defaults to offering to upload the key to the
ldap://pgp.surfnet.nl Domain Server. So far it always fails, but
sending keys to the next alternate (http://keys.pgpi.net) has always
succeeded. The whole process is too murky for me to start using it,
but FWIW, the key uploaded to the above server was defined for user
ASAAR with email address raasa@xxxxxxxxxxxx If you search for it,
you'll find two. I revoked the earlier one. FWIW-II, if you search
the server. I've never heard of nor am I Andre Saar. :)
So could you start signing your messages with the public key?
Then we could verify it against http://keys.pgpi.net where your
private key is stored?
