I can't find any header with newsfeed.gamma.RU now.
Maybe I reached a different news.google.com server?
It looks like Usenet news distribution paths can vary.
They really can and do vary. That's what allows the internet to
work so well. Any of the points used in the path can crash, and the
messages will still go through, because a different path will be
used to reach the destination. Google is large enough to have quite
a large server farm, and it may be that the one that you're
connected to is determined by an algorithm intended to spread the
load. But supernews.com at the end of the path indicates that the
message is consistent with having been sourced from my server. It
doesn't guarantee that I sent it, but the last time I posted from a
different server was probably at least several years ago.
