Hi,
I'm looking for a digital camera. I have a compact (a Canon Ixus 40,
which is great) and I am looking for something that I can control more
and which has a much bigger zoom.
I care about
1. Having all the manual settings like aperture / shutter priority
2. Having a bigger zoom (at least 10x)
3. Image quality
4. Having a reasonable fast-shooting mode for sports like skiing
5. Modest size and weight
I don't care about
1. Full DSLR capability
2. External flash
I'm thinking the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 looks like a good bet.
Can anyone help me here? What options should I be considering and what
are the pros and cons of each?
Many thanks,
Tom
Suggest you actually look through the viewfinder of any EVF you consider.
Most have a very blocky 110k pixel viewfinder - a few, including Kodak
EVFs have 200k or more - huge difference in how it looks.
I have a Kodak P850 - 12x zoom, full manual mode, saves jpeg, tiff, raw.
Suggest you look at the Kodak P series cameras.
