Hi.
Although I'm totally a newbie to SLRs, I just purchased a Nikon D70S. So
far, I can't quite figure out whether I should start using RAW format
right away, or if this may cause some extra work and/or confusion. For
photo editing I'm using PE5 and ACDSee 9.
Any advice, please?
cheers,
Ole K
How about this idea?
Shoot in raw, learn how to do a batch conversion in your preferred
software (I can use a program that came with my Canon or Photoshop
Elements 4.0), burn the raws to CD or DVD and put them away, then
continue with the jpgs if you wish.
This will be only a little more work than shooting in jpg and will
have a couple of advantages: you have a copy (the raw on CD) that you
won't accidentally muck up; and if you later learn and appreciate the
possibilities of raw, you can come back to the raw copies of your
earlier photos.
