That stuff belongs really more into the rec.childrens.toys newsgroup. ForSorry, the memory requirement I stated is for QVGA resolution video, for VGA
that category some Aiptek products are pretty good. When you compare the
results with those of a real photo camera or a real video camera, you
might be slightly disappointed. However they are about the smallest and
lightest that allow you to record in "almost usable" quality. Some models
have even Autofocus, even 3 x optical zoom. The cheaper ones have so
called "focus free" (of fix focus) lenses, sometimes with a macro setting.
Memory space requirement for 640*480 Mpeg 4 videos at 30 fps is about 1 GB
for 50 Minutes. I do not know of any such device that allows time - lapse
video recording. Some non Aiptek digital photo cameras have an interval
feature for taking still images. You might need an external power supply
for such a task.
Low light performance will probably not convince you, with as well as
without the LED light.

Line of very cute, very cheap all-digital video cameras at Target,
also sold at Circuit City, Best Buy, Walgreens, Amazon. But nobody
seems to give much technical info. OK, they're so cheap, it's
reasonable to just buy and try. But I thought I'd ask.
* What's the max video recording time with a 2gb card?
it is about 4 times that figure. You will only get about 12 minutes per
Gigabyte in 640 * 480. No accurate statement is possible due to variations
in compression ratio depending on image contents.
