I am planning got buy ACDSee to help organize and catalog my photo's.
I have downloaded version 8 and am pretty happy with it thus far.
Since 9 just came out I will probably have a look at that too before
I buy.
But I am also thinking about getting the Pro version, but for nearly
$100 more, is it really that much better?
If you have the Pro version, what's it's major advantage? Is it worth
the extra bucks?
I shoot for the local paper and plan to do freelance work for some
small magazines.
Thanks in advance.
For me, the main advantage is that it is color-aware. If you're not
familiar...that means it takes color profiles indto account when it
images. Without color awareness, you'll see different renditions ofimages
between Photoshop and ACDSee. With it, you can make accurate judgementsand
about your images as you browse. -A huge advantage for anyone serious
enough to profile their monitors and work-flow. -And if you AREN'T doing
this...that means your printing involves a lot of guess-work, wasted ink
paper (unless you're just not terribly picky).

Wow, I would never have guessed or even thought about that. That would be
important to me.
So, is Pro the only one to be color aware? Not 8 or 9?
