It is alleged that NOTvalid@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx claimed:
I am happy to hear from someone who has used both above.
I found Casio EX-Z50, [ one "0" which I am sure is what you are talking
about .
No, I typed exactly what I intended to.
(http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Casio/casio_exz500.asp) Mine
has electronic image stabilization and no optical viewfinder.
Never used the mirror on U30.
I didn't use it much, but it was a nice touch.
I had stayed away from lithium as i have had to take as many as 200 pix
non-stop with a tripod mount camera and using NiMh batteries I was
already to swap. I could have a problem with dead battery. Can you
quickly swap Lith battery?
As easy as anything else. The type of battery does not make any
difference in how easy it is to swap out. What matters is where and
how the battery is mounted. The battery (and memory card slot) door is
on the bottom. Depending on your tripod mount, it might interfere. Or
it might not.
With my tripod mounts [Olympus 360DL and Fuji 340] I could use TV as
monitor so subjects could see themselves [actors and models]. The
You lost me. What does your tripod have to do with using a TV as a
monitor? Surely this is a function of the camera.
EX-Z50 does not have TV out.
Neither does the Z500. There is a TV out on the camera's docking
cradle, but not on the camera itself. Not a concern for me. My
DSC-S85 has one and I've never used it. I don't even know where the
cable is anymore.
Review at Steve's says:
"Considering it does not feature a focus-assist lamp, the EX-Z50 does
an excellent job of focusing in low ambient lighting"
The Z500 has a focus-assist lamp. But like the flash, its effective
range is limited.
Could that mean that I could also use a slave flash trigger?
What would it trigger on?
Focus-Assist pre-flashes from cameras cause problems with slave
flashes.
The focus assist lamp is an orange light. Perhaps you're thinking of
the red-eye reduction preflash? It strobes the flash a couple times
before taking the picture, to cause the subject's pupils to contract,
thus reducing "red eye".
I have a over 3000 pix on the WWW taken at 2meg and less. Now doing
4meg as Fuji is stuck on that. Pix taken by wife and I regularly appear
You have no option to change the resolution? I tend to leave mine on
maximum resolution on the theory that I'd rather have more detail in
case I want to print it later and I can always reduce the size and/or
crop as needed later. If I +know+ I'm going to be taking the picture
with a specific size requirement, I'll change the settings for that.
