The Epson is about double the price of the Vosonic.
But if you are wanting to show pictures to friends, the extra
resolution on the Epson is well worth it. The results are stunning!
For the price of the Epson you are better off buying a lower end
laptop computer.
You may be, if you want the extra size, weight and complexity, rather than something you can carry in your pocket. Your money, your choice.

For that end, then, I prefer the iPod.

The attraction of the 8230 is that you can view pretty much all RAW files from all manufacturers even such way gear like Pentax and Konika-Minolta not just cAn0n and Kinon..

Good point. I guess if I were taking a trip and leaving the laptop behind, I'd shoot RAW and tiny JPEG. Normally, I shoot either just RAW, or large JPEG.
