OK I use OE, but how do I set it up so that it automatically sets the cursor
at the bottom of the post I am replying to?

Even if you want your replies to immediately follow quoted text,
you don't want the cursor to start at the bottom of the reply. If
OE is so limited that it can only initiate a reply to a message by
quoting its entire text, you'd want the cursor to start at the top.
Then moving downwards, highlight all of the text that is not
relevant to what your reply needs to deal with and delete it. Now
move the cursor past the next few sentences or paragraphs that
provide the context for your reply and start typing. When that part
of the reply is finished, if more quoted text remains below the
cursor, repeat the process, highlighting any remaining text that you
don't want to specifically address, and delete it. If you get to
something else that you want to comment upon, again, move the cursor
below it and start typing your response. Sooner or later there will
be no more quoted text and you can send, save or spell check the
reply.

BTW, if in a long post (several screens worth or hundreds of
lines) if I know in advance that I only intend for my reply to be
based on a single paragraph, I'll highlight that paragraph and when
the newsreader creates the reply, only the highlighted text appears
as quoted text. I've never used OE but I'd be surprised if it
couldn't do this as well.
