Hi. I've suddenly got a problem with my D-70. I hadn't used it for a
while, and
hadn't removed the battery. Now I've fully re-charged both batteries, and
have
the same multi-part problem with either one in place.
When I insert the charged battery, and then insert a memory card, the
memory
card led begins flashing and keeps flashing indefinitely. When I switch
the
camera on, neither the control panel nor the display comes on at all.
However,
when I push the Menu button (or the button immediately below it), the
display
comes on briefly -- for about a second -- with either the menu (when no
memory
card is in place), or a message that there are no images on the card. If I
hold
either of these buttons in, the display cycles on and off with the same
messages. In no case does the control panel show anything. I have also hit
the
reset button, with power both on and off, with no evident effect.
Of course the troubleshooting section of the user manual is useless. Has
anyone
ever seen this behavior, or does anyone have any suggestions?
TIA -- Larry
