Re: Does it matter if you press the button halfway or instantly?

I own a typical 5mp canon digital camera. When taking a shot, does it
matter if you press the button halfway through before pressing it all
the way or should I press it all the way down in one quick motion? I
know it's a stupid question but I'm a newbie. The manual says when you
press the button halfway, it gives the camera time to focus and when
it's focused you press it all the way down.

Yes, a gentle hold on the button and you should see a led blinking or
something inside the viewer. The led will keep blinking and only stop
when the focus is dead on. Very good for someone with dodgy eyesight
like me. Oh and if the flash isn't auto it will usually indicate if it
thinks flash is needed.

So half way and the indicator lets you know it's focused etc then
carry on the pressure to complete the picture, not jabbing at it again
like I do!
