Like everything, it depends on your use.
If you are going to use it once or twice a year for snapshots of the
kids at the beach, the cheaper one will be fine. If they were all that
terribly bad, no one would sell them. It's not like they fall into
piece the first time you look at them.
On the other hand, if you live on the coast and spend all of your free
time taking pictures of boats, then maybe a better one would suit your
needs.
I guess in a nutshell, the better you are and the more you will use
your equipment, then the better equipment you should probably have,
within reason and budget. Given that, then only you can decide.
