Correct. One slight note. Any time you have two metal pieces touching with
an electrical current flowing there can be some corrosion on the surfaces.
Over time this CAN cause inefficient or interrupted electron flow. When
plug in devices are unplugged and replugged the mechanical motion scrubs
the contacts. So an occasional "preventative maintenance"
removal/reinstal may be a good idea. But once or twice a year will
probably be enough. But as others have said, if you are doing the card
reading through the camera, there is no real need to remove the card. And
leaving it plugged in will protect the pins from physical damage.
