Go to a hunting store (or online) and get a pair of shooting gloves.
There are two basic kinds. One is a glove with the tips of the fingers
cut off and a thing like a hood that flips over your fingers and makes
it into a mitten. You wear the mitten most of the time and flip back
the mitten to reveal your fingers when you need the dexterity. The
second way is to wear a pair of light gloves inside of pair of big
mittens. You just slide off the mittens when you need to.
Also, don't forget an extra battery or two to keep in your inside
pocket so it stays warm.

Re: keep riding, fair weather friends ...mittens is that with the fingers together, they share what heat they do have, try mittens that are a size larger then you normally would wear, and see if the additional room helps. ...
