If you are using Acobat, you can open a pdf file and then save as jpeg file.

Thats true but Acrobat is not a free program. Acrobat Reader is but won't save as jpeg.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there's a freeware program that will allow one to convert a PDF file to JPG ?

You could use pdftopbm to get PBM, and pipe that to pnmtojpeg. Pdftopbm is part of the xpdf package, and pnmtojpeg is from netpbm.
